After “The Wire” ended, I didn’t think I would find another dramatic series on HBO that would capture my fascination; that was true until HBO debuted “True Blood” a few months ago.

Cut from the same cloth that made “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and” Angel” successful, the Louisiana based “True Blood” creates a new mythical take on vampire legend with shocking in your face eroticism and captivating storytelling that makes you anticipate the next episode.

Although there isn’t a release date for “True Blood “, if someone gives you a $50 gift certificate from Best Buy or Amazon.com, I would hold onto it until HBO decides to release season one prior to the show’s return in the summer of 2009.
